Physicists find convincing evidence of glueballs in Beijing experiment
Researchers from the Beijing Spectrometer III (BES III) experiment have presented convincing new evidence for glueballs — composite particles made entirely of gluons that have been predicted by the Standard Model of particle physics but never definitively observed. The findings were presented at the International Conference on High Energy Physics (ICHEP) and posted as a preprint on arXiv. Confirming glueballs would fill one of the remaining gaps in the Standard Model.
