Kosonen wins hammer gold at Euros; Włodarczyk misses podium by half a metre

Veteran Polish hammer thrower Anita Włodarczyk, aged 41, narrowly missed the podium at the European Championships in Birmingham, finishing just half a metre behind Norway's Llano, who took bronze. Gold went to Finland's Silja Kosonen, the new European champion. Włodarczyk threw consistently between 71 and 72 metres throughout the competition.
