Eurovision bans war-zone countries from hosting the song contest
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has changed the Eurovision Song Contest rules so that countries involved in an "armed conflict" or "sensitive geopolitical situation" cannot host the event, even if their broadcaster wins. The change is seen as particularly relevant for Ukraine and Israel, both recent high performers. The next contest will be held in Bulgaria in 2027 following singer Dara's victory.
