Hungary to sink barges in Danube to save Paks nuclear plant running at reduced capacity
Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar announced the government has ordered the immediate construction of a riverbed threshold on the Danube between Paks and Dunaszentbenedek to prevent water levels from dropping too low. The Paks nuclear power plant is operating at a fraction of its capacity due to low river levels. The threshold is intended to maintain sufficient water for reactor cooling.
