Poland to face Russia in water polo — first such match since the full-scale invasion

Poland will face Russia in the U-20 European Championship Division I water polo tournament — the first such competitive match in over four years since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. For a long time it appeared Poland's players would boycott the fixture, but three hours before the opening whistle it was confirmed the match would go ahead. No details about the reasoning behind the decision were given ahead of the game.
