Zhu Rongji dies — the former premier who opened China to the world

Zhu Rongji, former Premier of China and one of the chief architects of the country's economic transformation, has died. During his tenure, Beijing carried out a painful restructuring of state-owned enterprises and joined the World Trade Organization, opening China's economy to the world.
