North Korea fires ballistic missile ahead of US-South Korea military drills

North Korea fired a ballistic missile from the Wonsan area on its eastern coast, which flew more than 700 kilometres. It was Pyongyang's second missile test within a week. Seoul condemned the launch and reaffirmed its readiness to repel any provocation in cooperation with the United States, ahead of planned joint US-South Korean military exercises.
