Ambulance refused for tick-borne encephalitis patient in life-threatening condition
A 30-year-old man with tick-borne encephalitis arrived at an emergency room in a life-threatening condition after ambulance dispatchers repeatedly refused to send help. According to Gazeta Wyborcza, the rescue team was only dispatched after a follow-up call threatening legal action. A dispatcher reportedly implied that ambulance transport was a privilege reserved for VIPs.
