NFZ chief: Poland has too many around-the-clock hospital wards

Filip Nowak, president of Poland's National Health Fund (NFZ), said Poland has far too many hospitals operating 24-hour emergency duty rosters, arguing a planned care system would be sufficient. Speaking on RMF FM radio, he described the current organisation of many hospital wards as inefficient. Nowak also said it is too early to require doctors to choose between working in the public or private healthcare sector.
