Polish emigration falls: 1.51 million Poles abroad in 2025, down 21,000 year-on-year

Poland's Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported that approximately 1.513 million Polish citizens were temporarily residing abroad at the end of 2025 — about 21,000 fewer than in 2024. In Europe alone, around 1.373 million Poles lived abroad, a drop of nearly 19,000 compared to the previous year. The figures suggest a continuing trend of Poles returning home.
