Miastko hospital scandal: private firm performed 458 procedures on a closed ward, NFZ paid

Over the course of a year, neurosurgeons from the private company Spine performed 458 procedures on a ward at Miastko hospital that had officially been suspended for local patients, Wirtualna Polska reports. The NFZ generously funded these procedures without knowing the ward had effectively closed to ordinary patients. The fund says it was not informed of the suspension by the Pomeranian voivode.
