Norwegian relay team handed back gold medals at Europeans after receiving faulty ones

Norway's mixed 4×400 m relay team won gold at this year's European Athletics Championships, but the celebration was briefly interrupted when the medals handed out at Tuesday's ceremony turned out to be defective and had to be returned. Poland's mixed relay team narrowly missed the podium, finishing less than two seconds behind the bronze medal position.
