55-metre Virgin Mary statue near Toruń to be consecrated on 15 August, cost 100 mln PLN

A 55.6-metre statue of the Virgin Mary in Konotop near Toruń is nearing completion and is considered the tallest such sculpture in Europe and the second tallest in the world. The construction cost approximately 100 million PLN. The official consecration is planned for 15 August, but pilgrims are already arriving at the site ahead of the ceremony.
