Fajdek finishes fifth at European Championships; Poland's hammer throw streak ends

Paweł Fajdek finished fifth in the hammer throw final at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, ending Poland's unbroken medal streak in the event dating back to 2012. Hungarian Bence Halász won gold with an outstanding throw. The result marks the end of a long era of Polish dominance in the hammer throw at European Championships.
