Balcerowicz warns Poland is heading for a fiscal "wall" over welfare spending

Former Deputy Prime Minister Leszek Balcerowicz warned in an interview with naTemat that Poland's biggest economic problem is an oversized state, not a lack of it. He criticised the 800+ child benefit programme as a driver of rising public debt and warned Poland is heading for a fiscal "wall." He also stressed the vital economic contribution of Ukrainians working in Poland.
