Flood aid millions granted on 7 photos showing no flood damage
Poland's Karkonoska Regional Development Agency disbursed millions of zlotys in flood relief to neighbours of a Civic Coalition politician, relying on just seven photographs — none of which show actual flood damage. Payments were authorised on the basis of entrepreneurs' own declarations and municipal certificates issued from a generic list of flooded streets. Investigators found multiple further irregularities in the documentation.
