Telemetric data from Poland's IMGW meteorological institute shows Kołuda Wielka recorded 40.6°C on 28 June — higher than readings the same day in Słubice, the usual frontrunner in national temperature rankings. The institute must still verify the data before any new national maximum temperature record can be officially declared.
