Urban brine graduation towers harbour more bacteria than a cowshed, experts warn

Research shows that the water and aerosol around urban brine graduation towers — popular as healthy recreational spots — can contain dangerous bacteria, including Escherichia coli, at concentrations higher than those found in cowsheds. Experts advise the public not to touch the brine or pour it on their bodies. The microbiological risk is especially high for people with weakened immune systems.
