Poland's first Miecznik-class frigate ORP Wicher emerges ahead of christening

The hull of ORP Wicher was partially brought out and illuminated on Sunday evening, marking the start of ceremonies ahead of the christening and launching of the first of three next-generation multi-role frigates. The vessels are being built under Poland's Miecznik (Swordfish) programme, aimed at significantly boosting the Navy's combat capabilities. It is one of the largest modernisation programmes in Polish naval history.
