Putin visits Novosibirsk: police every 50 metres, residents told to stay home

Vladimir Putin arrived in Novosibirsk, where authorities imposed sweeping restrictions on residents' freedom of movement. Police officers were stationed every 50 metres along his motorcade route and around the local university campus. Residents were advised to remain at home for the duration of the visit.
