Health ministry bypasses presidential veto to protect HIV and HCV patients

Poland's Ministry of Health has drafted a bill guaranteeing HIV-positive people access to medical consultations and antiretroviral treatment regardless of insurance status. The National Health Fund (NFZ) will also cover hepatitis C treatment costs for inmates in penitentiary facilities. The move is a response to the president's earlier veto of legislation addressing these issues.
