Colombia's strongest 21st-century quake kills 132, leaves thousands missing

A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck western Colombia on Monday, August 10, making it one of the strongest in the country's history. At least 132 people were killed, around 570 injured, and more than 2,700 reported missing. The tremors were felt as far away as Bogotá and neighbouring countries, with Pereira, Cali, Manizales, Armenia and Quibdó among the hardest-hit cities.
