Belgian drug commissioner: criminal gangs using Airbnb rentals to stash drugs and weapons

Belgium's national drug commissioner, Ine Van Wymersch, has warned that a growing number of criminal gangs are using short-term rental platforms like Airbnb to store drugs, weapons, cash and people. Flexible short-term bookings make it easier to pack and distribute narcotics. Van Wymersch noted that the booming e-commerce sector is also aiding organised crime enormously.
