Director Kamiyama Kenji, known for "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" and "The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim," has built his new anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam RG XARX-ZERO" around humanity's uneasy relationship with artificial intelligence. The alien threat in the show is a deliberate metaphor for AI fears, with the central question being whether humans will use AI or end up being used by it. Kamiyama told Variety the theme drives the entire narrative of the series.
