Poles rush to planning offices before September 1 deadline on building rules

Polish landowners are flooding planning offices ahead of the 31 August deadline after which a spatial planning reform may make it impossible to obtain building permits under current rules in many municipalities. Local authorities are overwhelmed by the surge in applications. From September, building a single-family home in some areas could become significantly harder or outright impossible.
