Catalan vineyards harvest grapes at night as temperatures hit 45°C
Extreme heat has forced Catalan vineyards to change their working practices — one winery began harvesting on 22 July, earlier than ever before. Workers now start picking in the middle of the night to avoid daytime temperatures reaching 45°C. Polish growers are also reported to be affected by the heatwave conditions.
