Fabbri retains European shot put title; Bukowiecki finishes outside the medals

Leonardo Fabbri defended his European shot put title in Birmingham with a throw of 22.31 m. Poland's Konrad Bukowiecki squeaked into the final on his third throw but missed the podium, despite coming in with medal aspirations. Fellow Pole Szymon Mazur, the national silver medallist, also qualified for the final.
