Russia and Ukraine escalate long-range strikes with no effective counter

Russia and Ukraine are both escalating long-range strikes deep into each other's territory, and neither side has an effective way to stop the attacks. With no quick military fix available, the coming winter is expected to be especially hard on civilians on both sides of the front.
