Ewa Swoboda advances to European Championship final in Birmingham
Ewa Swoboda advanced to the European Athletics Championships final in Birmingham, continuing her strong form after placing fourth in Munich and second in Rome at previous European Championships. The 29-year-old sprinter from Podlasia Białystok qualified via the semifinal system, where the top two from each of three heats plus two time qualifiers advanced. Kryscina Cimanouska, who ran in the first heat, did not make the final.
