Russia bans liberal Yabloko party from September parliamentary elections

Russia's Supreme Court has banned the liberal opposition party Yabloko from participating in September's parliamentary elections, following a petition by the far-right Rodina (Motherland) party. The ruling effectively removes one of the few remaining opposition voices from the ballot. Yabloko representatives said they would appeal the decision.
