China's Long March 7A rocket explodes shortly after launch

China's Long March 7A (Chang Zheng 7A) rocket suffered an "in-flight anomaly" shortly after lifting off from the Wenchang Space Launch Centre on Hainan Island, according to state news agency Xinhua. The rocket was carrying the ChinaSat-4B telecommunications satellite. The mission ended in failure, marking a setback for China's space programme.
