WHO: DRC Ebola outbreak started months before official declaration — cases misdiagnosed as malaria
The World Health Organization has said the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo began months before it was officially declared. Earlier cases of the disease were wrongly attributed to malaria and typhoid, significantly delaying the public health response.
