Kazan may host 2028 European Swimming Championships despite Russia ban debate

European Aquatics president Antonio Silva announced that Kazan has retained full hosting rights for the 2028 European Swimming Championships. The decision is controversial given Russia's exclusion from numerous international sporting events following the invasion of Ukraine. The Tatarstan city thus remains confirmed as the host.
