Zoo lions behave more naturally when fed whole carcasses, study finds

A study by the University of Adelaide and Monarto Safari Park in South Australia found that feeding zoo lions whole animal carcasses instead of cut portions significantly altered their behaviour. Eight infrared cameras recorded the lions around the clock for three months to track the changes. Researchers also varied feeding schedules to better mimic natural hunting patterns.
