Danube, Rhine, Loire, Po and Vistula hit record low water levels amid European drought

Europe's major rivers — the Po, Loire, Rhine, Danube and Vistula — have hit record low water levels due to heat waves and a severe lack of rainfall. In France, drought warnings covered 85% of the country in mid-July, compared to under 2% just two years earlier.
