Meta to open-source its most powerful AI model, taking aim at OpenAI and Anthropic

Meta launched its Muse Glimmer model and announced it will release the weights of Muse Spark 1.2 as open source. Mark Zuckerberg is pushing an open AI strategy as a counter to the closed models of rivals OpenAI and Anthropic, framing it as key to US leadership in artificial intelligence.
