Smolińska reaches 400m hurdles semi-final at European Championships; Gryc eliminated

Izabela Smolińska advanced to the semi-finals of the 400 metres hurdles at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. Anna Gryc failed to progress past the qualifying round. It was the first day of competition for Polish athletes at the championships.
