Spanish army deployed to Mallorca for total solar eclipse on 12 August

Mallorca authorities declared a pre-crisis state and ordered the deployment of the army across the Serra de Tramuntana mountains ahead of the total solar eclipse expected on 12 August. Regional authorities fear a massive influx of tourists and eclipse-watchers. In Poland, a partial solar eclipse will be visible on the same day.
