Six Colombian rebels killed in military operation as new government sends warning
Colombian security forces killed six armed group members on Sunday — four from a splinter faction of the former FARC guerrillas and two from the Gulf Clan drug cartel — in the northwestern Antioquia department. The operation was described as a deliberate "message" sent by the new government of President Abelardo de la Espriella. It marks one of the new administration's first significant uses of force against armed groups.
