Polish government to write off pre-1999 ZUS debts worth around 315 million złoty
Poland's Council of Ministers is set to consider a draft law on Tuesday that would write off ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) debts incurred before 1 January 1999 that are not secured by a mortgage. The total amount of debt covered by the write-off is estimated at around 315 million złoty. The move would bring relief to debtors burdened for decades with unrepayable obligations.
