Russia rejects ceasefire freeze, demands removal of conflict's "root causes"

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told TASS that Moscow will not agree to a freeze of hostilities in Ukraine without first removing what it calls the "root causes" of the conflict. He also criticised the United States for continuing to supply military support to Kyiv. Russia thus rules out any temporary ceasefire without meeting its own preconditions.
