Polish hammer thrower Wojciech Nowicki failed to advance from the morning qualifying session at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, recording 74.49 metres. Speaking to TVP Sport, he did not hide his disappointment, saying the performance was below his expectations. It is a surprising setback for one of Poland's top track and field athletes.
