Polish Digital Ministry: new regulation will stop offices denying same-sex couples' marital status
A same-sex couple from Lublin, Jolanta and Alicja, were refused a change of marital status by the civil registry office despite holding a marriage certificate. Poland's Ministry of Digital Affairs says a forthcoming regulation will prevent such administrative defiance, with the system automatically recognising the change. The case highlights continuing resistance from some Polish civil offices towards same-sex couples.
