Romania diverts drought-stricken Danube flow to keep nuclear reactor running

Romania has declared a state of energy emergency for the whole of August and redirected the flow of the drought-stricken Danube river to maintain cooling for its nuclear reactor. The country is grappling with severe drought that has significantly lowered the river's water level, on which the reactor depends. The EU member state has issued an update on the reactor's status.
