Coffee, juice and milk can block medication — what should you take pills with?
Taking medications with drinks other than water is a common but potentially dangerous mistake. Coffee can interfere with the absorption of certain pills, grapefruit juice has serious interactions with many drugs, and milk can bind to some antibiotics and reduce their effectiveness. Plain water remains the only universally safe option.
