Toyota recalls 500,000 Camrys – software bug can black out the speedometer

Toyota is recalling approximately half a million Camry sedans due to a software defect that can cause the speedometer display to go completely dark while driving. The recall affects lower-trim models equipped with 7.0-inch instrument clusters, which require a software update at a dealership. Higher-trim Camrys with 12.3-inch displays are not included in the recall.
