Six EU countries including Poland demand overhaul of drought aid for farmers

Harvests are failing across Europe from France to the Czech Republic due to drought, exhausting aid funds designed for one-off disasters rather than recurring annual crises. Poland is among six of the worst-affected countries demanding changes to how the EU responds to agricultural drought. The available 900 million euro fund is widely seen by farmers and governments as far too small.
