Flood-aid scandal in Lower Silesia: 4.5m złoty paid to firms with questionable damage claims
Three companies from Dziwiszów in Lower Silesia received a combined 4.5 million złoty in flood aid despite doubts over whether their properties actually suffered damage, according to Wirtualna Polska. One of the firms belongs to the husband of a Civic Coalition politician who simultaneously serves as deputy president of the institution distributing the funds. A municipal representative admitted that the grant procedure was "simplified".
