Iran demands US troop withdrawal from region before reopening Strait of Hormuz

Iran's national security chief has laid out conditions for the US to meet before Tehran reopens the Strait of Hormuz, including lifting the naval blockade of Iranian ports, compensation for war damages and release of frozen Iranian assets. Separately, Iran and Oman say they are close to a deal on managing the strategic waterway. The Strait of Hormuz is a critical global oil shipping route.
