Nawrocki sends windfall tax on fuel firms to Constitutional Tribunal
Polish President Karol Nawrocki has referred a bill taxing windfall profits of fuel companies to the Constitutional Tribunal for preventive review, effectively blocking it from coming into force. Speaking to voters in Skawina, Nawrocki cited a campaign promise: "I promised I would not impose or sign additional levies on Polish citizens." The bill had aimed to impose a special tax on fuel firms' excess profits.
